gravity casting manufacturer today gives you a brief introduction to the characteristics of gravity casting
Gravity casting is the process of casting molten metal under the gravity of the earth, also known as casting. Generalized gravity casting includes sand mold casting, metal mold casting, investment casting, etc. narrow sense gravity casting refers to metal mold casting.
Metal casting is the modern process of making mould with heat-resistant alloy steel. The metal liquid is usually poured into the gate by hand, and the metal liquid is filled with the mold cavity, exhaust, cooling, and mould to get the product by the metal liquid self weight.
The process flow is: melting, pouring, filling, exhausting, cooling, mould opening, heat treatment and post-processing.
The characteristics of gravity casting:
1, less porosity in casting, heat treatment can be carried out. After heat treatment, the strength of products can be greatly improved, even more than that of die casting products.
2. The density of the product is low. Depending on liquid gravity molding, the compactness of the product is lower than that of the die casting product, and its strength is slightly worse, but its elongation is higher.
3, the surface finish of the product is not high. The casting product will form a similar shot blasting concave on the surface of the product after cooling and contraction.
4, slow filling and low production efficiency. Its production efficiency is only about 1/4 of high pressure casting, resulting in high product cost.
5, die life is longer than die casting, mold cost is low.
6. The process is simple.
7. It is not suitable for the production of thin wall parts.
