China’s casting technology has a history of over 6000 years, and it is one of the civilized countries in the world who grasps foundry technology earlier. In the current casting technology, casting aluminum alloy is the most common, aluminum alloy sand and casting.

In the process of automobile manufacturing, there are many parts made of cast iron made of blank, about 60% of the weight of the whole car, such as cylinder block, gearbox, steering gear shell, rear axle housing, brake drum, all kinds of stents and so on. Sand type is usually used in the manufacture of cast iron. Sand is made of sand and mixed with binder and water. Sand material must have certain adhesive strength to be molded into the desired shape and resist the erosion of hot metal without collapse. In order to make the sand mold fit into the cavity with the shape of the casting, it must first use wood to make a model, called wood mold. After the hot hot metal cooling, the volume will shrink. Therefore, the size of the model needs to be increased on the basis of the original size of the casting, and the thickness of the machined surface needs to be thickened accordingly. Hollow castings need to be made of sand core and corresponding core mold (core box). With the wood model, it can be turned into the cavity sand mold.
